The cleanest surface a restorer will ever see

Surface preparation defines every restoration outcome. Paint, plating, weld inspection, corrosion treatment, recommissioning: every stage that follows depends on what lies beneath the contamination, and on how cleanly it is revealed.

Most cleaning methods damage the very thing they are meant to expose. Abrasives wear original metal. Solvents leave residue. Water drives moisture into seams and cavities that take years to dry. Dry ice blasting does none of these things when it is applied correctly, by people who understand the substrate underneath.

Solid CO₂ pellets are accelerated at the surface. On contact each pellet sublimes, lifting oil, grease and contamination away without ever touching the metal beneath. Nothing abrasive. Nothing introduced. Nothing left behind.

Our equipment

Built around some of the best dry ice blasting equipment in the industry

Much of the dry ice work done on vehicles relies on small handheld kit and underpowered compressors, which introduce moisture and contamination into the very process meant to remove them. As the job runs on, pressure drops and the finish suffers.

We built Sublime around something steadier. Professional-grade compressors hold constant airflow at the same pressure from the first minute to the last, so the clean at the end of a long day matches the start. Our blasting machines give the technician precise control over particle size, flow rate and pressure: gentle enough for a delicate painted panel, firm enough for heavy underbody contamination, adjusted as the work moves across the vehicle.

We assess every car individually, then set the equipment around the substrate, the contamination and the condition in front of us. The kit is the foundation. The judgement is what makes it work.

Services

Every service, one method

Every service uses the same dry ice CO₂ process. No abrasives. No moisture. No chemicals. From Porsche 911s and Jaguar E-Types to Land Rover Defenders and modern performance cars, every vehicle is assessed individually.

Underbody & Chassis

Full underbody, chassis members, wheel arches and suspension. Years of compacted contamination, salt and bitumen residue removed. Aged underseal fractured cleanly by thermal shock, with no grinding and no damage to original metal or factory seams. Every surface left ready for inspection or protection.

Engine & Drivetrain

Engine bay, gearbox, propshaft, differentials and exhaust system. Oil contamination and heat-bonded carbon lifted without water or solvents. Non-conductive throughout, so wiring, sensors and connectors stay protected and original casting condition is exposed for accurate inspection.

Presentation & Interior

Door jambs, shut lines, sill channels, pillar bases, seat runners and boot floors. The areas conventional detailing cannot reach and concours judges always examine, cleaned without moisture risk to trim, wiring or original finishes.

Corrosion protection

A clean substrate deserves the right protection

Protection applied to bare, contaminant-free metal bonds harder and lasts longer than the same product laid over road film and surface deposits. We hold four systems in-house and recommend by vehicle, storage and goal, rather than leading with one product.

1 year

Lanoguard Clear

Short-term protection, reapplied annually. Suited to vehicles in active use or stored outdoors.

2 years

Bilt Hamber Dynax-UB

Wax-based protection. The pragmatic choice for daily-use classics and weekend cars.

5 years

Dinitrol Full System

A professional preservation system, applied as part of a full programme.

10 years+

Ceramic Underbody Coating

The long-term option for high-value vehicles being preserved for the next decade.

Each system has a recommended maintenance interval. We record yours and, with your permission, remind you when it is due, much like an MOT.
